SBI was tasked with demoing an existing retaining wall and landscaping at the Hillsides campus in Pasadena.
Project scope consisted of rebuilding a retaining wall with CMU blocks faced with stone veneer and cast-in-place concrete caps.
On the interior side of the wall, drainage was installed below grade as well as valley gutters to catch the surface rainfall.
At the downstream end of the drainage are biofiltration units that will filter rainwater and release it clean into the street.
Also included in the project was an automatic gate and railings to secure the Hillside community.
Concrete sidewalks and flatwork rounded out the project to give the client a brand-new look at their front entry.
