St. Barbara Catholic School located in Santa Ana was established in 1963 and was overdue for interior and exterior upgrades on two classroom buildings and the Parish Hall/Gym.
The courtyard, signage screen, and structural upgrades were all completed in a Design Build role with Nous Engineering and Landcare Inc.
The exterior of the campus buildings was power washed, stucco repaired and received a fresh painting scheme. A common area courtyard was built out with a dozen poured in place concrete seat walls, artificial turf, decomposed granite, Magnolia trees, low maintenance landscaping, and a large shade sail for the students to utilize as an outdoor workspace. A new 80-foot-long screen with welcoming signage will direct families to the new receptionist and office areas.
An open concept was designed for the front office, back office, and break room areas. To achieve the open concept, both buildings received structural upgrades: Shoring, new posts and beams, and underpinning of footings. The interiors were renovated with new lighting, HVAC, millwork, tiled restrooms, painted walls and ceilings, and doors. Additionally, every classroom received an upgraded lighting package.
